Resources For Families That Are Struggling Financially!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by, as everyone knows I pay it forward in my community to those struggling financially. I do the honor system which some took advantage of. There are lots of wonderful people out there, but when your family is struggling financially then it helps to get ahold of the situation before it gets too out of hand. I didn’t like to ask for help, still don’t. Sometimes we need to swallow our pride and do it for our family.

Remember that once you get back on your feet, there may be opportunities to pay it forward and not necessarily financially. We can offer our time, support, and help to those we know going through life’s ups and downs.

Click on the link below and you can search for resources in your area. Remember, just because they don’t have the funds one month to help doesn’t mean they can never help. This get you on the right path. Check out the local food pantries in your area, and sometimes they will have a list of resources also.

If you are a single parent and have a large tax refund coming up, try to spread it out throughout the year instead of spending it all at once. Try to remember the financial hardships throughout the year and how an extra few hundred per month can make a huge difference in making sure the bills are paid.

Check and see if you qualify for food stamps. The few hundred you use on food could be put towards a bill to get you back on your feet sooner.

If you know of any resources to help those struggling, please comment below to make a families future a little Hi Everyone!

Super Coupon Woman’s 2019 New year’s Resolutions & 2018 Year In Review

I like to post and share my New Year’s Resolutions with everyone and take a look back at 2018 to see how which resolutions were kept and which ones failed. The past few years have been about healing because I think the last stable year I had financially was 2012! It has taken a toll on me and lose some of my positive attitude. Some days are a struggle, but I a trying to heal each day and get back to being positive and inspirational. Here is a small glimpse of what the past few years have brought me:

2013: Job loss
2014: 10k worth of Vandalism to my car.
2015: Car got T-boned and totaled, tried to do Dave Ramsey Way and went through two more cars and ended up getting a new one with a car payment so I wouldn’t be driving around in an unsafe car. Another 10k
2016: Two Wylie Hail Storms that tore up two cars and house damage also which was in April and trying to recover from that when our business caught on fire Memorial Day weekend. All together, close to 100k in damage.
2017: Fell and hurt my shoulder at work and they would not do the right thing and fix it since I didn’t fight back. I was under severe financial stress and continued to work in pain.
2018: Finally couldn’t take the pain any longer and quit to let my shoulder heal. Did not have savings for this at all. Shortly after making this decision, my brother needed to have open heart surgery, so I went down to take care o him and my mom who was recovering from Pnuemonia. The day before I was to come back, I got sick and have been ever since.

So I am hoping and praying 2019 is a little less financially hard on me. I continued to Pay It Forward through all these road bumps life threw my way.

My 2018 New Year’s Resolutions are as follows:

Find fundraisers to raise money to grow and build Super Coupon Woman Foundation. I did have a Garage Sale that helped me pay for the 2018 Back to School Challenge where I gave out 50 New Backpacks filled with School Supplies.

Continue to focus on myself to heal and grow as we all should each year. Success..I have some areas I would like to improve on but am pretty proud of the progress I have made this year.

Only spend money on paying it forward if budget allows. I did very well and spent under 1,000 including my storage building rent so I am happy with that.

Complete 52 Week Savings Challenge: Want to join to have 1,380 savings at the end of the year? Fail…Trying Again This Year 🙂
https://www.facebook.com/52weekschallenge/

Have three months worth of bills saved in the event of an emergency and work towards having six months saved. ummm…no, did you see up above what I have been through?

Finish Girl’s Memory boxes and Scrapbooks. Ha Ha, Good One! Trying again This Year.

Coupon & Stockpile more this year. Could of done better.

Write another book…I have a few started.

Do mystery shopping or other side jobs to try and earn an extra 3k this year.
I did close to 1,000. I am still without a job trying to find ways to earn income from home so I don’t have to put up with mean bosses.

My Resolutions are about the same except I will add:

Posting Regularly on my blog.

Not only writing a book, but publishing one by the end of the year.

Pay Debt down once again.

Continue to let arm heal.

Start Couponing more regularly.

Super Coupon Woman’s Life Event Update!

Life has thrown me a lot more curve balls than I would like over the past few years. I have been a server for 15 years and absolutely loved it. Cash Every day, good pay and I interacted with all kinds of people. Unfortunately, Feb 6th 2017 a little boy accidentally tripped me making me fall with a full tray of dishes and I jerked my tray back injuring my arm back to keep the dishes from hurting any customers. I did not realize how injured it was and continued to work and my job did not do a workman’s comp claim or encourage me to go to the doctor. They did the opposite and said they did not want me to go.

I had endured a lot of financial loss over the previous years and had just gotten an apartment with my daughter’s help so I felt a lot of obligation’s on my shoulder’s so I continued to work. Nineteen month’s later, I couldn’t take the pain anymore and quit abruptly. I don’t recommend doing that, but had stayed way too long being unhappy and felt they deserved the same respect they showed…none. I really loved serving and without realizing it, did more damage by continuing to work and pretend everything was okay. I now can only lift it half way up in the side position, the other positions I have full range and pain level is between two and three. So in the end, I had to do what I was trying to prevent from happening after the fall, I had to stop serving so my arm can heal. It’s been three month’s and sometimes I feel like it’s healing and other times I feel it’s the same even though I am not working which can be frustrating. They did not care enough to let me go to the doctor, so I can only guess on how to make it better or what the diagnosis really is.

I have always wanted to work at home and even though I did not have much money saved, I took this time to try and learn about different opportunities. I am also taking this time to learn about me because up until now my identity has been as a mom or my work. I want to learn about me and what makes me happy when I am not at work. I will be a mom the rest of my life but my girls are grown so I can take time to try some new career’s without the financial pressure I had as they grew up and solely depended on me.

Since my previous supervisor’s were mean and bullies, I didn’t want to jump into a job just to be unhappy again. In the previous post, I told everyone about some of the side hustles I have tried and decided they were not for me. I do encourage other’s to try them as they are good side hustles and could be what you need to bring in extra money or full time income. Shortly after quitting, my brother that also has a hurt shoulder and his employer treated him the same way. (he was braver than me and got a lawyer) He needed surgery but had to go to a heart doctor to get the okay for them to do it and found out he needs a heart operation so that put’s more pressure on me to find something to work at home since he takes care of my mom who is eighty. The past six weeks has been full of unknowns which made it hard to know what job direction to go.

I was working at TNG and didn’t want to pick up more hours until I knew what was going on. I ended up leaving due to my supervisor making the job more difficult than it needed to be. That’s one of the reasons I loved the job was not having being able to work on my own and have minimal contact with supervisor’s. Meanwhile, I had been applying for other merchandising companies. My brother will be having his operation October 22nd and I will be going down there to take care of him and my mom for about five to six weeks if all goes well.

Once I knew what was going on, I could tell interested employer’s what was going on and see if I could work down there and transfer once I am back home. I am happy to say, one company was happy to do that, I should be training this week and they will wait to hear from me on when I will be available for work once I know my brother’s status. I feel like that was a really nice thing for them to do. The Company is Drive Line Retail I will be a merchandiser and the schedule is flexible as long as you get it done by the due date. (usually within the week) so if you are needing something that you can do on your time schedule, apply today.

Mystery Shopping has been slow this month so very happy to start my new job. I will post on some other work at home job’s I am or have applied to later in the week.

If you are wondering if I am still paying it forward and helping others, the answer is yes! I have a friend that is helping as I am going through all this and she will be picking up donations and giving them out as she finds someone in need. I can’t wait to be able to dedicate more time to it when things get back to normal.

Happy Sunday!

Super Coupon Woman Shoe Drive Fundraising Project!

Super Coupon Woman is holding her first ever fundraising project to raise money for Super Coupon Woman Foundation! We are collecting new or gently worn shoes that will help those that have been affected in natural disasters, and raise money For our charity to allow us to continue helping those in need in Wylie and surrounding communities. Super Coupon Woman helps those in need as they are having financial struggles or mother nature throws them an unexpected curve ball such as an unexpected house fire, hail storm, or tornado to name a few. We have donated well over $150,000 to our community by using the power of couponing, and collecting others unwanted items to share with those in need. We now have a storage building full of clothing and various items where they can come shop as they would in a store for items they need. Her Pay It forward circle grows and grows and now needs funds to grow even further to allow her to own her own building one day! Our goal is 200 bags of shoes. 1 bag= 25 pairs so 5,000 total. With everyone’s help this can be done. We need 500 people to donate 10 pairs each. Ask Family and friends to collect even more! Please contact me if you have any shoes to donate especially if you live in wylie or surrounding areas. Fundraising deadline is April 15th, so still plenty of time to collect. I will pick up or we can meet : supercouponwoman@yahoo.com

Join Super Coupon Woman in Low Spend January & February

So I made my New Year’s Resolutions and accomplished a lot last year on a personal level after overcoming many obstacles. I got a little off track during the holidays as many of us do,so to get back on track and knock out my remaining debt, I am committing to a low spend January, February, and possibly March also. I really want to quit living paycheck to paycheck and save 3 months worth of bills and slowly work my way up to 6 months or more. There are many forms of saving, each person is different as to what works for them. I think for myself I need to trick myself a little bit. For example, since I am already used to struggling, would if I struggled a little longer but save that money to get ahead in the future. I haven’t been spending any money since December 25th LOL. Here are some of the steps and techniques that I am using to succeed for my low spend months:

I am a server and have started an envelope called 10 a day for me, so each day I put $10.00 a day in there that I am allowed to use on what I want but it has to include any household needs such as food, toiletries, pet supplies etc. I did have a small stockpile built up and used a $50.00 gift card that I bought for Christmas to get a head start on my plan.

I am buying a $25.00 gift card per week to use for Christmas, If I do not use them all or need them, I can use them for myself.

I am doing the 52 week challenge, but putting amounts in daily instead of weekly, I know once the amounts get higher I may only be able to do one or two per week, but this will help me with my savings goals If I am committed to this goal. This works out to 27 per week if you want a set amount to put up each week. Please join me in this challenge weekly or daily to save money easily https://www.facebook.com/52weekschallenge/

I am doing the daily penny challenge which is the same as 52 week challenge but on a daily basis which will add up to 668.00 in a year. I am on day 170 with the change I currently have. It works out to 12.50 per week if you would like a set amount to put up also.

I am putting 5.00 a day up when I work for a vacation I have planned in July, so yes I am just trying to get in the habit of saving any way I can without knowing I am doing it! I am still searching for even more creative ways to save!

You may ask why low spend? Most people do No Spend..Just those words make us feel like we are depriving ourselves of what we want, by doing low spend and being cautious of what we spend and getting a treat here and there will allow me to succeed with this challenge.

I would love to have some support, please comment below and let me know what your savings goals are and any unique tricks that are allowing you to succeed at saving.

Happy Saving!

Super Coupon Woman’s 2017 Year in Review & 2018 New Year’s Resolutions

2017 was a year to recover and heal from several years of bad events that was hard to recover from. I had a pretty calm year other than falling and hurting my right shoulder which is my tray carrying arm. It’s still hurt and I have to be careful since I had to continue working with no money to fall back on. I am only limited to not being able to take large parties and other servers don’t believe I am really hurt.

My 2017 New Year’s Resolutions were:

Pay Debt Down Between 8-10k Success …will have 8k paid by the end of January. I did add some debt, but have a goal set to have paid by July of 2018

Build up Emergency Fund …Failed, but paid a lot of debt so it’s okay

Focus On Myself More and Not Put Extra Stress On Myself…Success!

Not Spend any money on Paying It Forward, can only use items others give me or free items I get from Couponing or any fund raising money I receive. Success…I did spend some money, but would back away if I was feeling overly stressed from paying it forward.

Make an extra 3,000 in income from side jobs such as book sales, mystery shopping, blogging, or other side jobs. Failed..only made about 200 and did not put time in on my blog, and froze as far as marketing my book because my self esteem got bruised from all I have been through…hoping to get my inspiration back this year.

Complete the 52 Week Savings Challenge which will give me 1,380.00 to deposit at the end of the year…Failed…too much debt to pay.

Try to pay for Christmas only using free money from gift cards from couponing, survey sites, etc. Failed

Write another… Book Failed

So lot’s of resolutions were not kept as with many, but the two main ones were…so I will be able to focus on the other ones this year. I hope 2018 will be a calm year that allows me to continue to heal and grow that will allow me to continue paying it forward without a heavy heart.

My 2018 New Year’s Resolutions are as follows:

Find fundraisers to raise money to grow and build Super Coupon Woman Foundation.

Continue to focus on myself to heal and grow as we all should each year.

Only spend money on paying it forward if budget allows.
